We invite you to our beautiful premises on Westland Row in Dublin’s city centre for a Summer Orchestral Course aimed at 14 – 20 year olds commencing July 9th 2012. Building on our reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting music conservatoires, we invite students from all over Ireland and abroad to come to Dublin and play great orchestral music with our enthusiastic staff.
Under the baton of experienced RIAM conductor James Cavanagh, this is a 5-day course
with a difference and one you will not forget.
Here is a taste of what’s in store:
- The orchestra votes on its own repertoire for the week
- We feature sight-reading sessions
- We conduct workshops on the anatomy of the orchestra
- You study alongside staff and student conductors from the
IAYO Programme - You will participate in a Final Concert in St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row, on
Friday 13th July 2012
So come along, make friends, learn about the orchestra and entertain the city of Dublin in our closing concert.
Students should be between the ages of 14 and 20. Grade 6 upwards is the
recommended level and there are no entrance auditions. The cost of the course is €150 and this is non-residential.
Completed entry forms together with the course fee of €150 should be sent to the General Office by Tuesday 1st May 2012. Please mark envelopes “Orchestral Manoeuvres”, RIAM, 36-38 Westland Row, Dublin 2.
