The Audition Procedures for part-time admittance, with the exception of some specialist courses will be as follows:
- Applicants will fill out the standard application form and submit any additional information they consider necessary along with the application fee.
- The relevant Head of Faculty will shortlist those applicants to be called for audition and will consult, where necessary, with other teaching staff. Applicants not called for audition will be informed of this accordingly.
- The audition panel will normally consist of the Head of Faculty and one other faculty staff member. All other relevant staff will be invited to attend. Teachers may not re-audition an applicant.
- The applicant will follow the requirements as outlined by the letter of invitation to audition.
- Following completion of the audition process the panel will produce a list of successful applicants in order of merit. The Head of Faculty will take cognisance of applicants who wish to be taught by a particular teacher or, for instance, a male or female teacher although there are no guarantees about these matters. The completed list will be returned to the General Office.
- The General Office will process the successful applicants strictly in order of merit as they appear on the audition panel list.
- The decision of the audition panel is final. The audition panel will not enter into correspondence regarding their decisions.
- Applicants who wish to discover what their ranking is in the admittance process must put such an application in writing to the General Office.
- Only applicants who have successfully completed the audition process will be considered for admission to the Academy.
- It should be noted that the number of applicants who successfully complete the audition procedure might exceed the number of vacancies available. Applicants will be made aware of this.
- Any disputes will be referred to the Registrar in the first instance who will consult any relevant staff.
- Applicants offered a place in the Academy must adhere to the deadlines stated in the letter of offer or the offer will lapse and the place will be re-assigned
- All new students registering at the Academy are accepted on a one year probationary period. At the end of their first year all new students must successfully pass an End-of-Year evaluation in order to retain their place at the Academy. Failure to pass will result in the student having to discontinue their place at the Academy.
