Preliminary: G Coulter ‘Love Song’ – Bar 7: bass clef should read two minims instead of minim and crotchet.

Preliminary: ‘Echo’ – Bar 11 should read a minim.

Primary: ‘The Forest’ – Bar 16 should have a crotchet to finish as there is an upbeat.

Piano Albums Grade VI, Grade VII and Grade VIII: should read select one piece from each list A, B and C (format in keeping with previous years and also the current syllabus).

Classical Guitar

The Academy has been notified that the third edition of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Guitar Series has been discontinued. Candidates may now use the RCM ‘Bridges: A Comprehensive Guitar Series’ instead. This series is available from Preparatory to Level 8 and corresponds with Local Centre Primary to Grade VIII.

Primary and Grade I:
Candidates may choose any three contrasting pieces as follows:
Primary Grade:  candidates may select pieces from ‘Preparatory Guitar Repertoire  and Studies’
Grade I: candidates may select pieces from ‘Guitar Repertoire and Studies 1’

Grades II to VIII:
Candidates must prepare three pieces – each piece must be selected from a different list in the Table of Contents as follows:

• Traditional, Renaissance, and Baroque Repertoire
• Classical and Romantic Repertoire
• 20^th and 21^st Century Repertoire
• Studies

For instance, Grade II candidates will use ‘Guitar Repertoire and Studies II’ etc.

Grade 8 List B: Brian Willson Marimba Etudes, available from Steve Weiss Music

 

Singing

Grade 7 List B: Bright Cap composed by Bernadette Marmion is from Music Sweet (CMC) and not Chamber Music (CMC) as listed.
