Faculties
The Musicianship faculty covers theory classes for second level students at the Academy and also runs the academic component of our undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees. In addition to this, the faculty runs a range of courses that cater for a broad range of musical interests. These include courses in:
- Junior Certificate Music
- Leaving Certificate Music
- Music technology
- Music appreciation
- Composition
- Music Degree Entrance examination preparation course
- ARIAM Diploma Musical subjects
- LRIAM Diploma Musical subjects
- Sight-Singing
- Phonetics
All of the above courses are open to students outside the Academy. Our lively and enthusiastic teachers are leaders in the field of academic music research and include international composers and performers. We provide interesting and stimulating tuition in various aspects of music study and are delighted to share our skills and love of music with enthusiastic fellow music makers.

SMI/RMA Joint Annual Conference (9-12 July 2009)
The Society for Musicology in Ireland (SMI) and the Royal Musical Association (RMA) will hold jointly their Annual Conference at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin from 9 to12 July 2009.
