Performing Spaces

performing spaces

Following an ambitious building programme throughout 2000/2001, funded by the Department of Education and Science, the Academy now can boast of a number of fine performancespaces including the 150-seater Katherine Brennan Hall and the 60-seater Recital Hall.

In grateful recognition of a substantial donation given by RIAM patrons Lew Glucksman and Loretta Brennan Glucksman, the Board of Governors of the Academy decided in 2002 to dedicate the refurbished 150-seater concert hall (formerly Dagg Hall) in memory of Loretta Brennan Glucksman's mother, the late Katherine Brennan.

Each season both venues play host to a wide variety of concerts by Academy staff and students, as well as visiting international artists. Both halls also provide rehearsal space for the Academy's Performing Groups and are used by Academy faculties for masterclass sessions.
