Scholarships and Competitions

The Academy offers for competition:

(a) Local Centre Entrance Scholarships - providing free tuition in the subject of examination at the Academy for one academic year from September 2009 to June 2010. The Scholarships also provide for attendance at a Musicianship Class, which is obligatory. Eligible candidates must apply by Friday 3 April 2009 stating whether they wish to compete for a Scholarship or a Prize. Application forms are available from the Local Centre Examinations’ Office or may be downloaded below.

(b) Cash Prizes

  • Group A First Prize €150 and Second Prize €120
  • Group B First Prize €225 and Second Prize €150
  • Group C First Prize €300 and Second Prize €225

The awards will be determined by competitive examinations, which will be held at the Academy in May/June 2009.
