Speech and Drama
Drama and Speech.
The new Drama and Speech Syllabus 2015 – 2018 is now available to download. This syllabus came into effect on the 1st of January 2015. It will last for the four year period 2015 to 2018 inclusive. The syllabus includes practical assistance for teachers, and theory teaching guidelines.
The Drama and Speech examinations from Early Learning Grade to Grade 8 embrace performance in poetry, prose, drama, mime, sight reading, theory and conversation. For those students whose passion is acting, we offer Solo and Duologue Acting Exams. Creativity is the bedrock of artistic expression, and for the inventive and imaginative student we offer our Creative Performance and Group Drama Exams.
Our Recital Programmes provide another area to enhance the student’s ability in performance skills, and we offer Bronze, Silver and Gold Medal Recital Examinations. The Senior Certificate is the first time the student is faced with a written and practical examination. Students have the choice of taking both elements at the same session or just choosing one. For many students, the Senior Certificate examination brings the Speech & Drama studies to a close while offering a taste for more intensive work at Diploma level.
For the Primary/Secondary School wishing to participate in Drama and Speech we offer examinations in Choral Verse Speaking, Group Drama, Public Speaking and Oral Communication, the latter being extremely popular with Transition Students all over the country. Our Cara Awards, an innovative format for the less experienced teacher and student, provide an opportunity for Schools and Colleges to have their work evaluated, and to receive an award for their dedication and hard work.
Our team of examiners travel the country to examine candidates in their own locality. If you wish any further information on the above, please contact Anna Walker, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
