Victor Malirsh French Horn Scholars

The Royal Irish Academy of Music is pleased to announce a new initiative that aims to establish two new French Horn Scholarships in memory and in honour of our highly esteemed colleague Victor Malirsh who was a devoted and distinguished teacher at the Academy.

The RIAM has committed €10,000 per annum to fund these scholarships. We are seeking matching funding from donors to make these scholarships possible.

The scholarships will be awarded to two outstanding full-time students of French Horn, who shall be given a full tuition waiver over a two year cycle at Bachelor, Master, Doctorate degrees or Recital Artist Diploma level.

The successful recipients of this exciting award will be required to teach young people in the community through designated RIAM outreach projects, giving the awardees the opportunity to hone their skills in teaching young people in the community.
