The Royal Irish Academy of Music’s advanced guitar ensemble, directed by Marion Hyland and made up of RIAM alumni and advanced players. As the guitar is generally a solo instrument, GuitaRIAM gives players the opportunity to experience large-scale ensemble works in a positive and enjoyable group environment.

Since their debut performance in April 2012, the group have collaborated with artists such as RIAM International Visiting Artist, Xuefei Yang, and have given Irish premieres of three Roland Dyens compositions. They have performed at venues such as the National Concert Hall, National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin Writer’s Museum, Freemasons Hall, the Pepper Canister Church, and in the Great Music in Irish Houses Festival.
