Children & Young People
RIAM offers short courses for children and young people that cover everything from exam preparation to ensemble performance. Keep an eye out for upcoming Summer Courses.
Tunes for Toddlers
These early-years music classes for ages 2-4 years use singing, movement, and play to build the very beginnings of a solid musical foundation—the perfect stepping-stone to RIAM Pre-Instrumental classes or simply a lifelong love of music!
Sessions are led by the always-lovely Sophie Lee, whose friendly approach and research-backed format is inspired by the Kodály Method and Orff Approach. Studies have demonstrated the wide-ranging benefits that music-making can have for toddlers and parents together, from learning and developmental benefits, to enhancing social skills, parent-child bonding, and improving well-being.
Irish Youth Musical Theatre
West End Studio Series
IYMT is Ireland's new National Youth Musical Theatre training company for young actors aged 14 to 24.
Join us as we launch IYMT's inaugural season with the West End Studio Series—a dynamic series of three workshops in Dublin, Galway, and Cork, with leading West End actors David Shannon, Killian Donnelly, Lauren Ward, and Fra Fee.
Vocal Competition/Feis Preparation Sessions
With competition & Feis season 2020 fast approaching, Soprano and Academy vocal faculty member Lynda Lee offers entrants to Feis Ceoil, Sligo Feis, Wesley, Newpark, etc. the opportunity to fine-tune their performance in a 'song class' format.
Singers will get to ease potential nerves about performing to an audience, practice working collaboratively with an accompanist, and work with an third-level RIAM coach—addressing any difficulties and accentuating the unique elements of their own individual interpretation and expression.
Leaving Cert Music Technology
In this one-day course, the RIAM's resident Leaving Cert expert and award winning lecturer Kim Fallen Bailey will cover all aspects of approaching the 25% Music Technology option of the Leaving Cert Music performance component.
Participants will be taken through each stage of the Music Technology question, with tips, tricks, useful techniques, and helpful information about the marking scheme.
Leaving Cert Music
2-Day Easter Revision Course
Leaving Cert expert and award-winning RIAM lecturer Kim Fallen Bailey reveals the mysteries of the Leaving Cert Music Composition and Listening papers, including set works, unprepared listening test, Irish music, melody writing, and harmony & counterpoint questions.

RIAM Youth Choir Summer Course
A fantastic opportunity for singers from inside and outside of the Academy to spend a week honing their choral skills.
This one-week intensive course will give young singers age 13-18 the opportunity to immerse themselves in choral singing and will provide the perfect environment for them to develop their ensemble-singing, aural & musicianship skills, and healthy vocal technique.
Led by the founder of Dublin Youth Choir, Lynsey Callaghan, participants will cover a broad range of repertoire, from renaissance polyphony to joyful spirituals and contemporary compositions by living composers.
