RIAM Recital Hall

Inspiring Futures Seat Campaign

Honour a family member, a teacher that inspired you, or a loved one with a passion for music by sponsoring a seat in the Royal Irish Academy of Music's new state-of-the-art recital hall.

We will deliver a transformed campus in 2022 that matches the unique history of teaching and learning at RIAM, a musical quest that is the privilege of our generation. The Irish Government and leading philanthropists have generously funded most of the campus redevelopment—an endorsement of our vision for music education in Ireland that we are so grateful to have received. We now offer you the opportunity to make your exceptional contribution.

The proposed 300 Seat Recital Hall will be the 'jewel in the crown' of RIAM activities—the space where the very youngest RIAM students to the pre-professionals will perform. This beautifully crafted hall will be a genuine step-change from our current facility - made in oak, with comfortable fixed seating rising above a generous stage. Designed by Todd Architects, with award-winning acousticians Sound Space Vision (Menuhin Hall, Surrey; Storey's Field Centre, Cambridge; Koerner Hall, Toronto) and theatre lighting designer Paul Keogan, this is a professional standard solo and chamber music hall with exceptional acoustics. Its unique design and professional finish, and atmosphere will support performance at the highest level.

In return for a one-off gift of €1,250, we will recognise your contribution in the following ways:

  • Personalise a seat inscription memorialising yourself, your family, or a musician who inspired you
  • Offer you naming rights to last the lifetime of the hall
  • Invite you to enjoy the recital hall's opening night performance from the comfort of your seat

If you would like to make your mark on the new RIAM Recital Hall, follow the link below to our online payment form to make your contribution of €1,250. Make sure to select 'Inspiring Futures Seat Campaign' in the drop-down menu.

In the meantime, please take a look at this short video which gives an overview of what our new recital hall will look like.
