Born in Dublin, Sarah Quinn began playing the violin at the age of eight studying with Loretto Nelson and subsequently at the Royal Irish Academy of Music with Maeve Broderick.

Keen to pursue a career in music, Sarah moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music with Itzhak Rashkovsky. Whilst a student at the Royal College of Music, Sarah was awarded a place on the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra String Experience Scheme. She joined the LSO in 1998, having graduated from the Royal College of Music with Distinction.

Sarah is also in demand as a teacher and regularly tutors at the Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has also tutored at the Music Academy of the West and RIAM.

She has worked extensively with youth orchestras and is passionate about working with young musicians in schools and the community.

Sarah is currently Chair of the LSO and is a member of the governing body of RIAM.
