RIAM Symphony Orchestra
Before the recalibration of orchestras in 2016 at the RIAM, the RIAM Symphony Orchestra constituted an amalgam of full-time and advanced part-time (Junior School) students of the RIAM.
With the creation of the new RIAM Philharmonia for full-time only students, the RIAMSO came into being to cater for the most advanced part–time students of orchestral instruments at the RIAM. This new regime provides more opportunity for engagement and access to orchestral repertoire for all.
The newly formed RIAMSO played two very successful concerts during the 2016/17 academic year under guest conductors Ciaran Crilly and Ronan O’ Reilly when they performed in The Astra Hall in University College Dublin and Haddington Road Church, Dublin.
