Entry Requirements (Undergraduate)

This is the standard you must achieve in your final school exams to be considered for RIAM Diploma and Bachelor courses. 

Full details of country-specific matriculation requirements are available on your country's admission page on the Trinity College Dublin website. 

If you do not meet those academic requirements, but attain a high mark at audition, the RIAM may award an exceptional academic exemption based on your musical standard. 

Access Course applicants have no minimum matriculation requirements. 

We teach all classes through English. If your first language is not English and you have not been educated through the medium of English, you must have one of the following English language qualifications: 

• TOEFL: Internet-based 55 (with a written score of 19).
• IELTS 5.5 for Diploma, Bachelor and Master students. 
• Pearson Test of English (Academic) – PTE Academic: a minimum of 51
• Duolingo English Test: minimum overall score of 90/160

Your Principal Study should be of a standard equivalent to Grade 8 with Distinction of the RIAM  Exams, or the ABRSM.
