Stephen Mathieson

Stephen Mathieson studied with Arthur Wilson, Lindsay Shilling and Peter Bassano at the Royal College of Music in London and gained an ARCM Performers’ and a ARCM advanced Peformers’.

He has been Principal Trombone of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra since the year 2000.

He has performed several times as soloist with the RTECO , including a live recording on Lyric FM of the Grondhal Concerto.

Stephen also has worked with many orchestras in the UK. He is interested different genres of music and enjoys the career balance of both playing and teaching.

Stephen studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Arthur Wilson, Lindsay Shilling and Peter Bassano.
