EMPOWER: Women Changing Music - This Wednesday at RIAM

Published: 3rd Mar, 2025

EMPOWER: Women Changing Music is an initiative dedicated to promoting fairness and gender equality in the music industry. By spotlighting female composers and musicians, EMPOWER creates an environment that celebrates women, broadening the historically male-dominated canon, and is an outlet for positive change. Centred on live events, EMPOWER offers performance opportunities to emerging artists and provides a space for dynamic, thought-provoking discussions.

Through a rich program of live music and insightful dialogue, EMPOWER highlights the transformative impact women are having on the musical landscape, both creatively and professionally, while fostering an environment of collaboration, inspiration, and change.

Featuring short musical performances from chamber ensembles, and the world premiere of the inaugural Opus HER commission, this event has something for everyone, but most importantly is an event everyone should hear and will take something from. Music has the power for change, and EMPOWER invites you to be a part of this movement.
