European Masterworks Celebrating Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union
Academy Chamber Ensemble
Fionnuala Hunt, violin; John Lynch, viola; Christopher Marwood, cello; John Finucane, clarinet; Lynda Lee, soprano and Hugh Tinney, piano
As Ireland enters its Presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2013, the occasion provides an opportunity to celebrate the magnificent body of chamber music that has emerged from all across the Union. In the fourth and final concert of this splendid National Concert Hall series, classic and vernacular collide with music by Boccherini, De Falla, Mozart and Schubert. In their National Concert Hall début, members of the Academy Chamber Ensemble also present Dvořák’s most famous trio, his Dumky. This work of powerful emotions should make a fitting end to the European Masterworks series.
