Hugh Tinney (RIAM staff) continues his series of 3 solo piano recitals at the National Concert Hall (main auditorium) with a programme of Bartok, Raymond Deane, Chopin and Liszt's famous B minor sonata - Liszt's most famous large-scale composition which is Liszt's triumphant answer to the disdain he suffered as a composer in his own time and since; it is an unquestioned masterpiece that tests performers technically, structurally and spiritually. Also included in the programme is a selection of favorite works of Chopin and 2 more pieces from Irish composer Raymond Deane's new volume Noctuary. National Concert Hall, 23 March 2011 at 8.00pm.
