Published: 24th Jan, 2014
Michael Spitzer is Professor of Music and Head of School at the University of Liverpool where he leads the Department’s work on Classical music.
A music theorist and musicologist, he is an authority on Beethoven, with interests in aesthetics and critical theory, cognitive metaphor, and music and affect. His RIAM lecture ‘Analysing Emotion in Bach’s Sonata for Unaccompanied Violin in G minor’ will undoubtedly be a fascinating examination of one of the composer’s great works for solo violin.
