RIAM Alumnus Órán Halligan Wins Freemasons Young Musician of the Year
Congratulations to RIAM Alumnus Órán Halligan on winning Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year!
Órán completed both his Diploma in Music Teaching & Piano Performance and his BA in Piano Performance with us at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and is currently working towards his Masters at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
While he was studying at RIAM, Órán performed in masterclasses with distinguished pianists such as John O’Conor and Finghin Collins, in concerts including our ‘Debussy Day’ and ‘11:11 Concert Series’, and in illustrious venues such as the National Gallery of Ireland's Shaw Room. He also had the opportunity to work with national orchestras such as the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, with whom he performed Poulenc’s Piano Concerto in C-sharp minor as part of his final-year examinations.
