Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Debussy’s Birth leading Irish pianist Therese Fahy will perform the complete Preludes by Debussy in New York.

Following her highly successful 2011 US tour, dynamic Dublin pianist Thérèse Fahy, with the support of Culture Ireland, has been invited to return to perform a recital at the American Irish Historical Society. One of Ireland's foremost pianists, Thérèse's apearances at home and abroad have been met with critical acclaim, as have her broadcasts on BBC and RTE. Performace highlights include a recital of Messiaen's solo works which the Irish Times described as a "tour de force," and the Irish premier of the composer's Reveil des Oiseaux with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland at Dublin's National Concert Hall. She is a senior professor at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and served as Director of Chamber Music there from 2000 to 2010. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Impressionist composer, Claude Debussy, she will play the beautifully evocative Preludes, written in 1910-1913. With lively introductions ot the music by the pianist, an acclaimed specialist in French repetoire, this promises to be a magical journey through the stunningly visual music of this truly great composer.
