The Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) has been named among the first higher education institutions in Ireland to be authorised to use the new TrustEd Ireland quality mark, awarded by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
Announced on 4 February 2026, the TrustEd Ireland mark is a new statutory quality mark for international education in Ireland. It is awarded to institutions that meet national standards in quality assurance and demonstrate a strong commitment to the education, wellbeing and overall experience of international learners.
RIAM is one of the first 28 higher education institutions in the country to receive this authorisation, an important recognition of the Academy’s continued commitment to quality, care and confidence for students choosing to study in Ireland.
The introduction of TrustEd Ireland marks a significant development for Irish higher education. According to QQI, Ireland is the first country in the world to introduce a national quality mark of this kind for international education. The framework has been designed to give international students and their families added assurance when choosing an institution, and to strengthen Ireland’s reputation as a trusted destination for higher education.
