RIAM travelled to the United States this month for two special performances in Boston and New York, bringing together music, conversation, and connection with friends, supporters, alumni, and international partners.
On Wednesday, 6 May, Friends and Supporters of RIAM gathered at the French Library in Boston for an evening performance featuring members of RIAM’s Young Artists Programme. Pianist Louise Byrne and French horn player Christina Troup performed alongside soprano and RIAM Masters student Hedwig Hauskeller, in a programme spanning Beethoven, Strauss, Kern, Mozart, Chopin, and more.
The evening offered an opportunity to share RIAM’s story with supporters in the United States, reflecting the Academy’s commitment to nurturing emerging artists, building international relationships, and creating meaningful opportunities for performance and exchange.
The following week, on Monday, 11 May, RIAM travelled to New York for a special collaborative performance with The Juilliard School at the American Irish Historical Society. Curated by acclaimed pianist and broadcaster Iain Burnside, The Seven Deadly Sins explored themes of temptation, excess, and downfall through an imaginative combination of song and poetry.
Featuring singers and pianists from both RIAM and The Juilliard School, the performance reflected the value of international artistic collaboration and the power of live performance to connect artists, institutions, and audiences across borders.
