This immersive programme invites RIAM’s string players to step outside the ordinary and into a world of unbridled artistic exploration culminating in The Creative Cabaret, a performance unlike anything seen before at RIAM. Each day, students will take part in inspiring workshops led by some of Ireland’s most innovative artists including Francesco Turrisi, Joanna Mattrey, Boris Hunka and Jonathan Nangle. 

Delving into improvisation, collaboration and artistic risk-taking while working in small, mentor-guided "pods", participants will devise original material, experiment freely, and push the boundaries of what string performance can be. 

These creative sparks come together in The Creative Cabaret, a one-off showcase directed by Diane Daly, RIAM’s Head of Strings. Expect the unexpected: an unfettered mix of music, movement, ideas, experiments and aspirations.
