The Royal Irish Academy of Music is located in the heart of Dublin's Georgian quarter. We are Ireland’s newest music campus with state-of-the-art facilities to host performances and events of all sizes. 

From the brand-new Whyte Recital Hall, ideal for chamber concerts, lectures and conferences, to rooms for launches, intimate concerts, rehearsals and meetings, we have spaces to suit different needs. 

 

How to get here

We strongly encourage you to plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of extra time to get into the venue. The best way to access our venues is via public transport. 

There are many ways to get to us, and you should pick the one that suits you best. If you’re using public transport, we recommend checking the TFI Journey Planner to find the best route.

Walking / Bike 

Please consider that we do not have bicycle storage space in our facilities. 

 

Bus 

RIAM is served by many Dublin Bus routes. We recommend checking the TFI Journey Planner to find the best route.   

Dart / Train 

Dublin Pearse railway station is the closest station to RIAM, located on the same street as us, just a few meters away. 

Luas 

The green LUAS passes a short distance from us, with the Dawson and Trinity stops being the closest, just 600 meters away.

RIAM does not have a private car park, however, our city centre location means we are surrounded by plenty of parking locations with the most convenient being Q-Park Setanta (1 Setanta Place Dublin D02V968), open 24 hours and conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from RIAM. 

On-street parking on Cumberland Steet, Boyne Street, and Pearse Street is convenient but is often busy. Guests are advised to leave plenty of time to find an available space if you plan to use on-street parking.

Seating 

All new RIAM venues are accessible by wheelchair. The Organ Room, located in the Georgian Building, is not currently wheelchair accessible, and therefore events in the Organ Room are kept to a minimum wherever possible. 

The Whyte Recital Hall can accommodate up to 8 wheelchairs (four at the stalls level, and four in the Balcony area).

Lift 

Whyte Recital Hall and Vernon Studio lift access is available from the main lobby and serves all levels from Basement and Ground Floor to Balcony. 

Toilets 
Unisex wheelchair-accessible toilets are on every level of the venue.

FAQs  

Yes, we have accessible tickets, facilities and services. For wheelchairs or accesibility bookings, please book in advance email boxoffice@riam.ie 

Most of our performances don't have a dress code, we want our audiences to feel comfortable and relaxed to enjoy the show. Where there is a formal dress code, it will be specified on the event page. 

It is not permitted to bring food or drinks into any RIAM venues. 

Unfortunately, we are unable to store e-bikes, e-scooters and e-unicycles, or any Lithium-Ion batteries. We kindly ask that you don’t bring these with you when visiting a RIAM venue.  

Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded unless an event is cancelled by the venue or promoter.

In the case of extreme force majeure in which an event is canceled, you will be offered a refund.  

If an event is rescheduled, all tickets purchased will remain valid for the new date, you will not have to make any changes. If you cannot attend the new date, you can request a refund by contacting our Box Office (boxoffice@riam.ie) 

A coat rail and hangers are available at the entrance where our patrons can leave their coats. Please note that it is self-service, so we recommend not leaving valuables behind. 

To provide a safe and comfortable environment for all our customers, we advise not to bring large bags into the Hall. Acceptable bags include regular-sized handbags, satchels, briefcases and small rucksacks.  

No. We are a cashless venue. For ticket purchases made at our Box Office, we only accept card or contactless payment. 

Latecomer admission is not guaranteed and will depend on the performance. To limit any interruptions to the show, there may be a significant wait before you can be admitted. 

This will depend on the performance. If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our ushers team on the day. Please also be mindful that we would like to minimize the number of times that audience members have to pass by other parties in their seating row.  

 

Toilets are cleaned throughout the day, before, during and after shows. 
We understand that some people have invisible disabilities that means they have special requirements. Accessible toilets can be found on every level, please speak to a member of staff for more information. 

In general, the taking of photos and video is prohibited. However, at some performances, especially student performances, taking a few photos or a short video at an appropriate moment. Please do not persistently photograph or record a performance and never use flash. Please consider others. Ushers may ask you to stop any activity they believe adversely affects the experience of other audience members.
