Speech & Drama Classes
The focus of these classes is to provide students with the opportunity to develop their creativity in a relaxed and informal environment. We offer a wide range of activities, including voice training, movement, mime, improvisation and stagecraft.
Emphasis is placed on personal development and class sizes are kept to a minimum to ensure individual attention for students at all levels.
The aim of the Academy’s syllabus is to instill a deep appreciation of literature, poetry, acting and the world of theatre. Participation in drama festivals and feiseanna is encouraged and visits to the theatre are arranged and encouraged throughout the academic year.
The Drama Department links closely with the Royal Shakespeare Company and students have attended talks and workshops at the RSC. Courses provided in Speech & Drama at RIAM not only complement but also support learning at both Primary and Secondary School.
